Changing your DNS

Think of DNS as the internet's address book. By default, you use your ISP's address book. Changing your DNS means using a different, complete address book (like Google's or Cloudflare's).

To change your DNS settings, you will need the addresses of a provider like Google (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1).

How to do it:

  • Windows 11

    1. Open Settings (press Win + I) and click Network & internet.
    2. Select your active connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
    3. Scroll down to DNS server assignment and click Edit.
    4. Change the dropdown from Automatic (DHCP) to Manual.
    5. Toggle IPv4 to On, enter your primary and secondary DNS addresses, and click Save.
  • macOS

    1. Click the Apple menu and select System Settings.
    2. Click Network in the sidebar, then select your active service (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
    3. Click the "Details…" button.
    4. Select the DNS tab in the sidebar.
    5. Click the + button under "DNS Servers," type in your new addresses, and click OK then Apply.
  • Android

    1. Open Settings and go to Network & internet.
    2. Tap Advanced (or More connection settings) and select Private DNS.
    3. Select Private DNS provider hostname.
    4. Enter a hostname (e.g., dns.google for Google or 1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com for Cloudflare).
    5. Tap Save.
Using a VPN

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) creates an encrypted tunnel between your device and a server in another country. Your ISP can see that you are connected to a VPN, but they can't see which websites you are visiting.

How to do it:

  1. Pick a provider: Reliable options include ProtonVPN (which has a free tier) and Mullvad.
  2. Download the app: Install it on your phone or computer.
  3. Connect: Open the app and click "Quick Connect" or choose a country where the site isn't blocked.
  4. Browse: Once connected, open your regular browser and visit the site.
Using TOR

TOR (The Onion Router) bounces your connection through three different volunteer servers around the world. It's much slower than a VPN, but it is incredibly difficult for any government or ISP to block or track.

How to do it:

  1. Download the Tor Browser: Go to torproject.org and download the browser. (On mobile, look for "Tor Browser" on Android or "Onion Browser" on iOS.)
  2. Install and Open: It looks and feels just like Firefox.
  3. Connect: Click the Connect button when the browser opens.
  4. Wait: It may take a few seconds to establish a connection. Once it's ready, you can browse any site freely.

About#

AnonFiles Libraries is a community-maintained index of working mirrors and alternatives for anonymous file hosting services. Our goal is simple: keep a reliable, up-to-date list of places where anyone can upload and share files freely, without accounts, without tracking, and without paywalls.

The original AnonFiles platform was shut down in August 2023 after its operators cited an inability to handle the volume of abusive content uploads. Since then, several community mirrors and successor projects have emerged to fill the gap. This site tracks and lists those working alternatives.

ℹ️ Note:
AnonFiles Libraries is an independent index site. We are not affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by any of the file hosting services listed here. We simply track and share publicly available mirror links.
